This Privacy Policy describes how AuraFit AI ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application. By using AuraFit AI, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information that you provide directly:

• Account credentials – email address and password (used for authentication only; password is never stored in plain text)
• Profile data – username, body weight, height, and fitness goal
• Photos / camera images – images you choose to submit for AI-powered analysis (food photos, body composition)

We do not collect:

• Location data
• Contacts or call logs
• Financial or payment information
• Any data without your explicit action

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To personalise your fitness plans, nutrition advice, and AI analysis results
• To display your profile information within the app
• To improve app functionality and user experience

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your account credentials and profile data are stored securely using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which are hosted on Google's servers. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

A copy of your profile data (name, weight, height) is also cached locally on your device using SharedPreferences to allow offline access. This data is removed when you log out or delete your account.

4. Third-Party Services

AuraFit AI uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) – manages secure sign-in and account management.

• Groq API – processes images you submit for AI analysis (nutrition estimation, body composition). Images are sent to Groq's servers for inference and are not retained after the response is returned.

5. Camera and Photo Access

The app requests access to your device camera and photo library only when you initiate an AI analysis feature. Images are sent directly to the AI service for processing and are not stored on our servers. We do not access your camera or photos at any other time.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (via Profile → Delete Account), we immediately and permanently delete:

• Your Firebase Authentication account
• Your profile document in Cloud Firestore
• All locally cached data on your device

Deletion is irreversible. We do not retain backups of deleted accounts.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access – view the personal data stored in your profile at any time within the app
• Correction – update your profile data from within the app
• Deletion – permanently delete your account and all associated data via Profile → Delete Account
• Data portability – request a copy of your data by contacting us (see Section 10)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children's Privacy

AuraFit AI is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption for all data in transit, Firebase's built-in security rules, and hashed password storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
